Set the pace and ticket plan in advance
The museum, park and palace need a careful timetable. Stas confirms the pickup place and order of the day; opening hours and admission should be checked for your chosen date.
First
De Hoge Veluwe National Park
The museum stands inside a large natural park of woodland, heath and shifting-sand landscapes. Time in the park depends on the pace chosen for the day.
Main stop
Kröller-Müller Museum
The nineteenth- and twentieth-century collection includes a major group of works by Vincent van Gogh. An open-air sculpture garden surrounds the museum.
Then
Apeldoorn
Continue to Apeldoorn for the palace part of the route. A walk in town depends on the time remaining after the museum visit.
Second main stop
Het Loo Palace
The former royal residence tells the story of the House of Orange-Nassau. Restored formal gardens with fountains extend behind the palace.
