Walk through the small fortified town by the water and see Muiderslot, a medieval castle with towers and a moat. Castle admission is separate.
Then
Naarden
A historic fortified town whose centre is enclosed by a distinctive system of bastions and moats.
Along the route
Blaricum and Laren
Two small towns in the Gooi region, with green streets and surviving traditional architecture.
Next
Loenen, Maarssen and the River Vecht
The road beside the Vecht passes old country estates and gardens. Stops are selected to fit the available time and the pace of the journey.
After the Vecht
Haarzuilens and De Haar Castle
Monumental De Haar Castle stands within its park and gardens. Admission to the grounds or interiors is separate and must be agreed in advance.
