First
Amsterdam’s Old South
Begin with a drive through Oud-Zuid, known for its broad streets and late-19th- and early-20th-century city architecture.
Then
Ouderkerk aan de Amstel
A small historic town beside the River Amstel. Stop among its old streets and see the church that gave the town its name.
Along the route
Amstelveen and flower-growing country
The road continues through Amstelveen into the rural area south of Amsterdam, where flower and farming businesses shape the landscape.
Next
Aalsmeer and the Westeinderplassen
Aalsmeer is closely associated with flower growing. Beside it lies the island-dotted Westeinderplassen, where the route pauses by the water before following the shore.
After Aalsmeer
Rijsenhout and an eel smokehouse
Rijsenhout stands on the other side of the lake, with a stop at a small family smokehouse.
